Hello!  Today re-read the last part of the final chapter of the book because I love this gender of philosophical fiction and gothic horror about Victorian times in England, the chapters are too charming.  I can imagine myself in a beautiful hall drinking tea and listening to Lord Henry critique the Victorian culture. I love how Oscar Wilde describes the gardens and houses and the dressings of some chapters. Well, back to classes, when reading time was the end, we had a long practice of listening, the worst was today I could not focus, but I think the result was acceptable. Then we have to work on our groups in the same channels to practice for the test tomorrow. Today Nash can connect with us to practice, I hope she doesn't have problems with her connection for tomorrow. In the group, we talked in English for around an hour and we connected again at 5pm to practice more. For today, also we have to work on guide #7 with more listening practice. I feel nervous about the test tom...

Hello! Today we started reading, and I finished the book, I simply love this novel.  The inspiration of Oscar Wilde to write this novel is very interesting and I would like to share that with you:  In 1882, Oscar Wilde met Frances Richards in Ottawa, where he visited her studios. In 1887, Richards moved to London where she renewed her acquaintance with Wilde and painted his portrait. Wilde described that incident as being the inspiration for the novel: In December 1887, I gave a sitting to a Canadian artist who was staying with some friends of hers and mine in South Kensington. When the sitting was over, and I had looked at the portrait, I said in jest, 'What a tragic thing it is. This portrait will never grow older, and I shall. If it was only the other way!' The moment I had said this it occurred to me what a capital plot the idea would make for a story. The result is 'Dorian Gray’ Without a doubt, for a writer, inspiration comes at the least expected moment. A...

Hello! Today we started with forty-five minutes of reading. I am happy because I have almost finished reading the book. When we finished the time of reading, we continued working in the channel groups, my group was "The Lake" to practice the presentation of the magazine "Life Mix." At fifteen past eight, we had to change at general channel to do the presentations of the magazines.  All the groups were working great! Congrats to everyone! Then, the teacher did a review of modal auxiliary verbs, and afterward, she told us the work for the next Thursday. On Thursday we have to do a test of comprehension with oral part and listening. We will be studying all the topics while we are working until now. For today, after classes, have to work in the same channel groups in a new conversation using topics of shopping for food, things of personal care, and clothes.  The conversation has to do at sixty lines at minimum. Also, we have to do a personal presentation about future p...

Jan 24 and 25, 2025.

Hello!  Although guide #6 is for Friday, I had to work on it on Saturday to complete all the tasks.  On Friday, I did an hour of reading and then researched the topic of animals as companion pets to include the topic in the "Life Mix" magazine. In the afternoon at 5 pm, we met on the channel The Lake and continued working on the magazine ideas and a bit more on the cover.  After the meeting, I kept working on my sections of the magazine. On Saturday, I continued with the listening part of guide #6 and also fixed the details of the magazine. I think I’m now satisfied with my part of the magazine, looked nice. On Sunday, we plan to meet to review the final details of the magazine and rehearse the presentation for Monday's classes. It has been quite an entertaining weekend!

Hello! Today, after the reading, we presented the magazine we worked on yesterday. Overall, we found it very interesting to work on a magazine; it was novel and entertaining. Additionally, we learned a lot about a variety of countries. When we finished, we worked in groups to create a new magazine on topics such as sports, vacations, entertainment, finance, pets, and comic strips. My group is called "The Lake," we divided the topics among ourselves and named the magazine. The magazine is called Life Mix.  Each of us is in charge of two sections:  - Jully handles the vacation and entertainment sections. - Nashly takes care of the finance and comic strip sections. - My sections are the sports and pets sections, focusing on companion animals.  Today we worked on editing the cover.  Tomorrow, we will combine and edit each person's parts to finalize the magazine.  We have to present it on Monday. I hope our work turns out great.

Hello! Today after reading the book, the teacher gave us an assignment to create a travel magazine using the information we studied yesterday in Guide 5. In my case, I had to work all day. First I gathered information about Belgium, the country my magazine should talk about, and which I knew almost nothing about. Then I edited it on Canva, something that is really easy but takes time. After that, I moved it to Heyzine to give it the digital magazine effect. I still need to add more information, but I think this first part turned out acceptable." https://heyzine.com/flip-book/f0280ef8e0.html

Hello! Today we were studying two forms for the future: "going to" and "will". First, the teacher provided an explanation about the topic. Next, we did an exercise to probe the newly  acquired  knowledge. Then everyone checked the answers. I had eight errors to twenty-five options. I believe it is acceptable to start. To support the explanation, the teacher shared a video on YouTube called  "Will vs Going to: Understanding the difference." I saw it again and wrote the rules in my notebook. For the remainder of the day, we were required to work on Guide 5. The guide 5 had 3 parts, one a video with a tutorial on how to use Canva.  The second part had two videos about how to craft a magazine using Canva, Heyzine, and Flipsnack. In the last part, we had to read three pages about how to create content for travel magazines. All of this was because we were preparing to make a travel magazine in the next few days. We have an overwhelming amount of information to ...

Hello! Today we had forty-five minutes to read the book, and I completed 88 pages. Next in classes, we did the group presentations. Then Nash presented her work because she was ill last week. Fortunately, she was feeling much better than last days. The teacher told us that all week we work and practice in new subjects. So today we began to learn about comparative and superlative forms.  because the comparatives and superlatives with short adjectives use er or est at the end of the words but if the adjective is large use more than or the most to form the sentences.  First, we review the descriptive adjectives to recall the classification into short and long adjectives.  The comparatives and superlatives for short adjectives use "er" or "est" at the end of the words, whereas for long adjectives, "more than" or "the most" is used to form the sentences. Then the teacher shared videos to support the new knowledge. Upon finished to watch the videos w...

Hello!  Today the work consisted of completing Guide 4, divided into two parts.  The first part included grammar exercises on the simple past and past progressive.  The second part was listening exercises, where we had to listen and select the correct answers.  The directions exercise was the one I found most challenging.  Today, we also had to continue reading and noting down unfamiliar vocabulary.  I uploaded the vocabulary evidence for the entire week today.  We are still practicing the group project we must present in class on Monday.  Have a great weekend!

Jan 16Th, 2025.

Hello! Today began with reading. I thoroughly enjoy this book and appreciate the profound meaning of its story. It is a pleasure to read it once more. I had forgotten how much I enjoyed reading Oscar Wilde's works. Next, in class, the teacher shared with us a video on YouTube called "Brain Hack: 6 Secrets to Learning Faster, backed by Neuroscience." First, we had to listen and take notes. Then we had five minutes to reflect on what we discussed about the video. After we finished discussing, we gave a presentation about traditions and celebrations. In the final part of the class, we worked in groups. My group was "The Lake" with Julie and Nash. Nash is very sick and unable to so only Julie and I worked. Hopefully, Nash will be better tomorrow to contribute. We have to present this work on Monday. The idea is not to write the conversation but to brainstorm and discuss it. It is challenging for me not to write, as I always write everything. However, I can manage it...

Hello! Today, we made a change in the schedule. We began with reading, this time for over 45 minutes. Next, we practiced for the presentations for 15 minutes. Then, we connected in the class to conduct everyone's presentations about childhood and a remarkable person. This was very interesting because we learn about different historical figures, who they were, and what they did. For tomorrow, we have to prepare a presentation about traditions and celebrations. Now, back to work!

Jan 14th, 2025.

Hello!  Today we started reading the book by Oscar Wilde. I was really happy to be able to read it in its original language.  Then in class, we watched a video and shared some of our thoughts about it. Next, we moved on to the presentations we worked on yesterday.  For tomorrow, we have two presentations: one about childhood memories and the other about an important person, their history, and their legacy. I chose María Montessori.  Now, let's continue practicing for tomorrow!

Jan 13th, 2025.

Hello! Then a short weekend came to class.  Today, we began with reading time. On that occasion, we had to read "The Picture of Dorian Grey," a book by Oscar Wilde. I love reading Oscar Wilde's books.  In the past I read this book in Spanish, later I watched the movie. Both are hardly good! When the reading time finished the teacher asked us who the read and everyone talked about it. After that, the teacher introduced us to a new topic " pass progressive", at the moment I think it is easy. Then, the teacher shared a video on YouTube to support the subject studied.  Later we watched the video I understood the topic more clearly. To practice we worked in groups, today I worked with Sandro and Juan, and we had to work in conversation with free issues and using past progressive and also simple past forms. We talked about what everybody did last weekend.  Finally, the teacher told us what searched on the internet for topics about historical facts, cultural highlight...

Hello!  Today, being Friday, we had to work on Guide 3, and we didn't have to join synchronous classes.  This guide had many exercises to practice and reinforce the topic we have been working on all week: the past simple tense.  It seems like a small amount of work, but in reality, it took many hours to complete exercises. That truly helped me realize how much I have learned about this topic so far.  Have a great weekend!

Jan 9th, 2025.

Hello! Today, we continued working on simple past topics and began the classes in the same groups as yesterday.  The instruction was to describe the last time I went to the beach, so everybody worked on their part then we presented it to the rest of the classmates. Obviously, we had to use the simple past tense. The teacher tested our pronunciation because it was very important, especially in regular verbs. During the second part of the class, we played a game in an app named Kahoot which was very entertaining and educational. The first time, I became the second one, for the second time, I was third. With this game, everyone proves their knowledge.  Today's guide consisted of studying all verbs on the list with their correct pronunciation and memorizing as many as possible.  To achieve that, I wrote study sheets with verbs in past form and sentences with those verbs, as well as I listened to songs and watched videos to reinforce my learning.

Jan 8th, 2025.

Hello! Over the past two days, we have worked on a new topic of the simple past tense focusing on both regular and irregular verbs. By studying the verb list we can enhance our vocabulary, and this knowledge helps us in improving our communication skills. These days, we join in group work and create dialogues. Yesterday, we discussed a free topic using items studied in past months. Today, we wrote about the last Christmas celebrations. At the beginning of classes, we wrote ten sentences describing our routine from yesterday. After classes, everyone had to memorize as many verbs as possible. An important aspect to practice these days is the correct pronunciation of regular and irregular verbs in their past forms. In just two days, we have acquired a substantial amount of new vocabulary, which is commendable.

Happy New Year 2025!

Hello everyone! As 2025 begins is important to chart the we wish to follow and write our own story. I propose some objectives to improve our lives this year. 1. Prioritize my needs and spend time with myself, taking time to relax and recharge energy through meditation, yoga, or other exercises. If I stay well with myself, I can be better others. 2.  Life has little moments that become more significant when appreciate them. This year, we can focus on these small pleasures. Small things make me happy, like watching the sunset and walking around the neighborhood. Living in the present helps us be happier. 3.Learn something new every day, such as a new skill, an interesting fact, or an item that intrigues you. Doing this will help you grow personally and professionally. Never lose your curiosity. 4. The people we spend our time can influence our feelings and emotional state.
