Coraline Tale - Feb 11th, 2025.

Hello! Today, I decided to read and note on the same PDF all the words I do not understand or don't know at all. When I finished taking notes on the first chapter, I read it for a second time and I enjoyed it most because I understood better all the context of the story. This chapter had too many descriptions of the new place Coraline´s family moved. Talked about her neighbors, her house inside and outside, and her mother and father. What she likes and doesn´t like for example she loves to go outside and explore and she hates her father´s recipes. She felt uncomfortable with spiders. Tomorrow I will begin the second chapter and I think I could take the same way as the first chapter until find a better way to read.

Hello!  Today I began my new favorite activity to enjoy and learn: reading books in English. The first step was to choose the book. My first thought was to read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone because these days, I am working on a Hermione Amigurumi doll with one miss coming to my Amigurumi Workshops. But then I think I should read the book Coraline Tale because I have to work on a Coraline amigurumi keychain for one client. So today I searched the PDF Book to begin to read it. Thirty minutes was too short to read, and I couldn´t finish the first part like I wanted. Anyway, I feel happy to begin a new reading book. These amigurumi dolls I made last October to celebrate Halloween

Hi!  Today, we had a different, very interactive class.  It allowed us to explore our interests and learn more about the interests of our classmates and the teacher.  We also talked about integrating other alternatives into our lists of interests and likes.  For today, we have to study idioms. I find that topic very interesting.  I'll try to learn as much as I can.

Hello!  Today was a day with a special activity with the counselor, after the group work presentations yesterday.  All the activities with the counselor were very motivating and full of enthusiasm.  We shared how we felt with the group, with the teacher, and with English.  What a nice group, I'm very happy to have had such a great opportunity to learn.  I really didn't just learn more English; I learned to use more technological tools, I learned to work more in groups, and I rekindled my pleasure for learning, reading, and even watching movies. In short, I have received an immense gift, and I am very grateful for it.  After that motivating activity, we had to work on guide #8 with listening exercises and another part looking for information about hobbies.  I read several articles and watched a couple of YouTube videos on the topic.

Hello! I apologize deeply those days passed too quickly. I cannot believe what remained unwritten for three days. On Thursday, we took the test, and I was so nervous.  The listening part was different from the ones we did in practice.  Honestly, the part where we had to write the answers left me a bit lost.  The conversation part was very entertaining. In the group, we started talking about different topics and realized that the teacher was in the group only when she told us.  For Friday, we had to study the vocabulary because we need to keep practicing the conversations, and that helps us become more fluent. Now, when I watch a series, I put it in English with English subtitles to keep practicing and learning the correct pronunciation of the words.  Today, the work was in the same groups. The girls and I were creating a conversation using all the topics covered in this module, and then we met again at 6 PM to practice.  This is the last week of clas...

Hello!  Today re-read the last part of the final chapter of the book because I love this gender of philosophical fiction and gothic horror about Victorian times in England, the chapters are too charming.  I can imagine myself in a beautiful hall drinking tea and listening to Lord Henry critique the Victorian culture. I love how Oscar Wilde describes the gardens and houses and the dressings of some chapters. Well, back to classes, when reading time was the end, we had a long practice of listening, the worst was today I could not focus, but I think the result was acceptable. Then we have to work on our groups in the same channels to practice for the test tomorrow. Today Nash can connect with us to practice, I hope she doesn't have problems with her connection for tomorrow. In the group, we talked in English for around an hour and we connected again at 5pm to practice more. For today, also we have to work on guide #7 with more listening practice. I feel nervous about the test tom...

Hello! Today we started reading, and I finished the book, I simply love this novel.  The inspiration of Oscar Wilde to write this novel is very interesting and I would like to share that with you:  In 1882, Oscar Wilde met Frances Richards in Ottawa, where he visited her studios. In 1887, Richards moved to London where she renewed her acquaintance with Wilde and painted his portrait. Wilde described that incident as being the inspiration for the novel: In December 1887, I gave a sitting to a Canadian artist who was staying with some friends of hers and mine in South Kensington. When the sitting was over, and I had looked at the portrait, I said in jest, 'What a tragic thing it is. This portrait will never grow older, and I shall. If it was only the other way!' The moment I had said this it occurred to me what a capital plot the idea would make for a story. The result is 'Dorian Gray’ Without a doubt, for a writer, inspiration comes at the least expected moment. A...
